Reflection

This week I made plans to get ahead in my school work. Since the semester started I have felt like I have been dragging myself to get things done. With school, work, and everything else I need to get done I feel like I have no time to take my time and give everything the attention it deserves. This weekend I had enough and took a stand to myself and said I am going to catch up and actually get ahead. As of today I can say I caught up and am getting ahead of myself. It kind of feels great! that I actually accomplished something. When it comes to the reading strategies I plan to continue implementing will have to be the note taking as I go alone with my reading. Note taking while I read is my most affective reading strategy. Not going to lie before spring 2015 I thought making, highlighting,  and writing in a book was bad because that is what we are taught in school but that actually it helps the reader or in my case me. I have been successful in the plans and reading strategy I planned for myself this far. As of my plans for next week I think I will try to stick to the staying ahead of schedule plan I have going on. I really enjoyed the outcome of that plan I made for myself. The adjustments I will make for next with that was different from this week would be to read more. Regardless of how much I read I feel like it's not enough or at least not enough effective reading. I can say at times I read and I really wouldn't be able to recall what I have read. For sure that reading effectively has some work to be done in my behalf.

In this source sentence we get examples in the sentence of what the word means, clearly we understand the meaning.

Reflection 

I learned from the Habit of Mind readings that to be successful we need to be persistent to achieve what we want to achieve. To keep trying till we succeed in what we are trying to do even after we have failed many times. With failure comes great success. In applying past knowledge to new situations it lets us have a better understanding of how harder we need to work to get things done. Also, past experiences can help us evaluate and know what really matters in the situation. We have a better process of things we want. With striving with accuracy it reminded me that we should not and I do not settle with just an okay. I always want the best. A strong reminder to not settle for less than what we want or deserve in all aspects of your life. An example of persistent to achieve in my personal life has to be how I persisted to finish college and get another degree. Now in my last semester her at Fullerton College it clearly shows me how persisting and striving not to settle for less and achieve a goal that seemed so far to achieve now is coming to a completion seems so surreal to me. On applying previous knowledge I helped myself not to make the mistakes I had done in the pass and aimed for hire than I have ever done in my life to achieve my dream goals. In striving for accuracy I have put in my personal life the strive to get not just what I want but more. Like when I thought I would just get a certificate here at Fullerton College now I and not only getting my certificate but also an AA in my major. I strived higher than I ever thought possible when I decided to go for this major.

Reflection

Reflection

Things I carry with me when it comes to physical things are my wallet, lotion, sun glasses, debit card,  drivers license, and cell phone. I seem to carry lots of physical things with me. I do not feel safe if I don't have all these things with me not even if i'm just going down the street from my house. In my wallet I carry my id, cards, and triple a card for any emergency and I need road side assistance. Other reasons I carry these things are to make sure I follow all rules with the law when it comes to having my driver's license with me at all times in case I need to identify myself not only for law purposes but also for my debit card. When it comes to non physical things I always carry in mind my parents. I think of all the good examples and values they showed me. My mind is always on my dad and what he showed me I act in the way he would have wanted me to be. Also I keep in mind and think of my mom and have to know every minute of my day how she is doing and if she needs anything for me to do for her. I always make sure and have in mind and in my heart to always do acts of kindness to others. To me these things I carry mentally make me feel like I am more grounded and helps me live up to the standards and values I was raise with. In a way it also makes me feel like I am honoring my parents for the great job they have done with everything they have taught me.

The author describes in the sentence after that they were scared but that they did not want to seem like cowards so they had to have valor.

It's an example because the character describes the tool with the word of the example.
